Segment 1 Skyline Operations
Segment 1 of Skyline operates from Kualakaʻi East Kapolei station, to Hālawa Aloha Stadium station.
Segment 2 of operations from Makalapa Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam station to Kahauiki Middle Street - Kalihi Transit Center station, is scheduled to open 2025.
Segment 3 of operations, from Mokauea Kalihi station to Kaʻākaukukui Civic Center station is scheduled to open 2031.
Fares
Fares for Skyline will follow the same fare structure as TheBus.
Skyline will require riders to have an active HOLO card loaded with funds to board. Each first tap will come with transfers, free within the next 2.5 hours.
HOLO cards also come with Fare Capping, to ensure you don't spend more than a day or monthly pass. Visit here for more information.

Monday - Friday:
5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday:
8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
City Holidays:
8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A one way trip on Skyline (from Kualakaʻi East Kapolei to Hālawa Aloha Stadium or vice versa) takes roughly 22 minutes
Average time between each station is roughly 3 to 4 minutes

TheBus and Skyline
How to get on Skyline
Riding Skyline will be easy for everyone! Whether you'd been on a rail system before or not, Honolulu's Skyline system will ensure a safe, quick, and easy way to get around.
In order to ride, you'll need to have a valid HOLO card with funds. Similar to riding TheBus with a HOLO card, riders will need to "tap" their cards on the HOLO card reader. These card readers will be located at the fare gates at the entrance of each station. HOLO card vending kiosks will also be located next to the fare gates.
Families with children 5 and under should use the ADA fare gates (wider gates located on either the left or right). Walk your child in first after tapping your HOLO card, and follow quickly behind. Please request assistance from a station operator if need.
A single tap at the fare gate will allow riders to enter the station to board the next available train. Riders will be charged based on their HOLO card type, and will be given a transfer period for 2.5 hours after the first tap. These transfers can be used to board a bus, or a returning train without being charged, if used within the 2.5 hours.
TheBus and Skyline Connectivity
Skyline will have connectivity to TheBus and other City modes of public transportation. Riders will be able to use their HOLO cards to board both TheBus and Skyline, keeping transfers and passes between both systems. A single ride on Skyline will be the same cost as a single ride on TheBus (pricing will be determined by Adult, Youth, Senior, etc.). Riders will still be able fare cap their HOLO cards on Skyline, meaning riders won't spend more than a day pass. Fare capping will work in connectivity for both TheBus and Skyline.

Three new TheBus Transit Centers will be located at:
Keone‘ae - UH West O‘ahu
Hō‘ae‘ae - West Loch
Hālawa - Aloha Stadium
All Skyline stations, excluding Honouliuli - Ho`opili Station, and Hālaulani - Leeward Community College Station, will have bus stops and connectivity.
In addition to TheBus service, there will be improved access stations for TheHandi-Van riders.
Why Skyline?
Oʻahu’s busy residents and visitors are looking for new ways to get around. Our existing public transportation system, TheBus and Handi-Van, provide much needed transit options for those who choose to commute collectively, rather than individually. Skyline is the latest addition to our island’s transportation options, elevating riders above ground-level congestion to avoid traffic, roadway incidents, and road construction.
Public transit gives commuters affordable options to move from place to place. Skyline is the newest member of our multimodal transit ʻohana on Oʻahu. Take TheBus, Handi-Van, and Skyline to and link your trips by riding a bicycle, car, skateboard, scooter, or simply walking.
