From Kuhio Avenue , Saratoga Road or Kalia Road heading away from Diamond Head , board 19, 20 or 42 and ride to Ala Moana Boulevard and alight closest to Ohe Street (three blocks after Ward Avenue ). Walk toward the ocean to the center.

Bus to Waikiki:

  • 19, 20 and 42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels

Board 19, 20 or 42 along Ala Moana Boulevard back to Waikiki . Routes 19 and 20 run 40 minutes apart and the 42 runs 30 minutes apart.


Approximate travel time is 25 minutes.

  • Transfer to 44 Ewa Villages Ewa Beach

On Kuhio Avenue heading away from Diamond Head , board the # 42 Ewa Beach or E Country Express and ride to the beginning of Ewa Beach to Ft. Weaver and Renton Road by the Tesoro Gas Station.  Transfer at the same stop to the # 44 Ewa Villages / Ewa Beach and ride to the entrance of the Railway Society.

BUS TO WAIKIKI  

  • 44 Waipahu Leoku Street

  •  Transfer to 42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels or E CountryExpress ! Waikiki

Board the #44 at the entrance to the Railway Society and ride to the first bus stop on Ft. Weaver Road .  Transfer to the #42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels or E Country Express to return to Waikiki .  The 42 and E Country Express run 30 minutes apart and the 44 runs an hour apart.

Approximate travel time is 2 ¼ hours each direction.

Bus to Waikiki:
  • 40 Honolulu-Ala Moana
Board 40 Honolulu- Ala Moana and ride to Kona Street in Ala Moana Center . Transfer to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. The 8, 19, 20, 23, 42, and E Country Express run frequently. The 40 and 40A run about 30 minutes apart during the day and an hour apart in the late evenings.

To return, board 55 Honolulu -Ala Moana to Ala Moana Center and change on Kona Street to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. The 8, 19, 20, 23, 42, and E Country Express run frequently. The 55 runs every half hour with limited evening service.

From Kuhio Avenue, Saratoga Road or Kalia Road heading away from Diamond Head, board 8, 19, 20, 23, 42, or E Country Express to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Transfer to 55 Kaneohe -Circle Isle and ride to the town of Laie on Kamehameha Hwy. Cross the highway to the cultural center. 

Bus to Waikiki:

Stand on Kamehameha Hwy fronting the cultural center and board 55 Honolulu -Ala Moana to Kona Street in the Ala Moana Center . Transfer to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. The 8, 19, 20, 23, 42, and E Country Express run frequently. The 55 runs every half hour with limited evening service. The last two buses from the Polynesian Cultural Center to Honolulu are 9:28 p.m. and 10:23 p.m. daily.

From Kalia Road , Saratoga Road or Kuhio Avenue heading in the Diamond Head direction, you may board the 23 Hawaii Kai-Sea Life Park bus. You may also board 22 Hawaii Kai Hanuama Bay Sea Life Park (Bus cancelled on Tuesdays) on Kuhio Avenue heading in the Diamond Head direction. Both buses will take you to the park entrance.


Bus to Waikiki: 
  • 23 Waikiki-Ala Moana
  • 22 Waikiki Beach & Hotels (Bus cancelled on Tuesdays)
Board either the 23 Waikiki -Ala Moana or 22 Waikiki Beach and Hotels (Bus cancelled on Tuesdays). Buses run about 30 minutes apart.

Stand on the bay side of Kamehameha Hwy and board the 52 Honolulu-Ala Moana bus and ride to Kona Street in Ala Moana Center . Transfer to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. The 8, 19, 20, 23, 42, and E Country Express run frequently. The 52 runs approximately 30 minutes apart during the day with limited evening service.
