On Kuhio Avenue in the Diamond Head direction, board the 2 Waikiki-Kapiolani Park bus to the Aquarium on Kalakaua Avenue . 

Bus to Return:
  • 2 Waikiki-Kapiolani Park
To return, board the same bus at the same bus stop back to Kuhio Avenue . 

Approximate travel time is 15 minutes, and runs about 10 minutes apart.

 You could also board 4 University-Waikiki, 8, 19, 20, 22 Hawaii Kai-Hanauma Bay-Sea Life Park (Bus cancelled on Tuesdays), 23 Hawaii Kai-Sea Life Park or 42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels to Monsarrat Avenue fronting Kapiolani Park and walk to the Aquarium. 

To return, walk back to Monsarrat Avenue and board 4 Nuuanu-Dowsett, 8 Ala Moana Center, 19
Airport-Hickam, 20 Airport-Pearlridge or 42 Ewa Beach. Buses run frequently.

To return, board the 4 University-Waikiki bus on Nuuanu Avenue . Buses run about 15 minutes apart on weekdays, less frequently on weekends and evenings.

From Kuhio Avenue heaading away from Diamond Head , board 4 Nuuanu- Dowsett or 4 Nuuanu-Pauoa and ride to Wilder Avenue and Makiki Street . Walk straight up Makiki Street and onto Makiki Heights Drive to the Nature Center (approximately a one mile/20 minutes walk). 

Bus to Return:
  • 4 University-Waikiki
To return, walk back to Wilder Avenue and in the opposite direction, board 4 University- Waikiki . The 4 runs 15-20 minutes on weekdays, and 35 to 40 minutes on weekends and evenings. 


Approximate travel time is 30 minutes.

Bus to Return:

To return, board the 52 Honolulu -Ala Moana and transfer on Kona Street at the Ala Moana Center to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. 8, 19, 20, 23, and 42 run about 10 minutes apart. The 52 runs about 30 minutes apart.

Also along Kuhio Avenue , you may board the 4 University-Waikiki or the 22 Hawaii Kai-Hanauma Bay-Sea Life Park  (Bus cancelled on Tuesdays). Ride any of these buses to Monsarrat Avenue , opposite the zoo entrance.  

Bus to Return:

Transfer to 55 Kaneohe -Circle Isle and ride to Kamehameha Hwy and Luluku Road , where you must make a one and a half mile walk to Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens. 
Bus to Return:
  • 55 Honolulu-Ala Moana
To return, board the 55 Honolulu-Ala Moana bus and ride to Kona Street in the Ala Moana Center . Transfer to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. Buses to and from Waikiki run frequently. The 55 bus runs every 30 minutes with limited evening service.

From Kalia Road , Saratoga Road or Kuhio Avenue heading in the Diamond Head direction, you may board the 23 Hawaii Kai-Sea Life Park bus. Ride the bus to Kealahou street and alight by the Koko Crater Stables sign. Walk through the access road into the crater and pass the stables (outer
crater) to the inner crater where the garden is located.
 
Bus to Return:
  • 23 Waikiki-Ala Moana
To return, walk back out to Kealahou street and board 23 Waikiki -Ala Moana. The 23 runs 30 minutes to an hour apart on weekdays and once an hour on weekends and holidays.  

Approximate travel time is one hour.

Ride to the terminus at Kumuone Street and Manoa Road . Walk up Manoa Road to Lyon Arboretum and to the trail which leads you to Manoa Falls .


Bus to Return:
  • 5 Ala Moana Center
To return, walk back to the terminus at Kumuone Street and take the 5 back to the Ala Moana Center . Transfer on Kona Street to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels.The 5 runs 20-50 minutes apart. The 8, 19 and 20 run about 10 minutes apart.

Bus to Return:

  • 5 Ala Moana Center

To return, walk from Manoa Road and along Cooper Road to the bus stop on Oahu Avenue . Board 5 Ala Moana Center . Transfer on Kona Street to 8, 19 or 20 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. Route 5 runs 20-50 minutes apart. Routes 8, 19 and 20 run about 10 minutes apart.

Approximate travel time is 40 minutes.

Transfer to the 3 Salt Lake and alight on Kaua Street or Hotel fronting Buckner Gate of Fort Shafter. Walk along the sidewalk heading onto the freeway. Moanalua Gardens will be on your right. 
Bus to Return:

To return, walk to the bus stop on Ala Mahamoe Street at Ala Amoamo Street and take the 31 Airport bus. Ride to Middle and Kamehameha Hwy. Stand on the oceanside of Kamehameha Hwy and transfer to 19, 20 or 42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels. You could also ride the 31 Airport bus to the Kalihi Transit Center and transfer to 2 Waikiki-Kapiolani Park , 13 Waikiki- Campbell Avenue , or Route B - CityExpress!. The 8, 19, 20, 23, and 42 buses run frequently. 2 and 13 run about every 10 minutes. The 3 runs about 20 minutes apart. The 31 runs about one hour and 20 minutes apart.
