DECEMBER ROUTE MODIFICATIONS
EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 13, 2020
As directed by the City and County of Honolulu,
Department of Transportation Service, the following major modifications will be
implemented effective
Sunday,
dECEMBER 13, 2020.

Route 8,
WAIKIKI – ALA MOANA
Route 8 is being reinstated.
Route will discontinue service along Ala Moana
Boulevard and will provide service along Kalakaua Avenue in both directions.
Eastbound:
TheBus will travel from the terminus, proceed
to Kona Street/Keeaumoku Street bus stop, left Mahukona Street, right Kapiolani
Boulevard, right Kalakaua Avenue, left Kuhio Avenue, and then resume the regular
eastbound route to Monsarrat Avenue/Kalakaua Avenue.
Westbound:
TheBus will travel the
regular westbound route to Kuhio Avenue/Olohana Street, continue on Kuhio
Avenue, right Kalakaua Avenue, left Kapiolani Boulevard, left Kona Iki Street,
and then turn left Kona Street to terminus.

Route 16,
MOANALUA VALLEY
Route 16 will be renumbered and renamed Route 302
Moanalua Valley-Kalihi Transit Center.
Route 19,
WAIKIKI – AIRPORT – HICKAM
Route 19 will be discontinued and existing service will
be combined with the Route 20 schedule.
Service to Hickam will be replaced by new Route
303 Hickam – Kalihi Transit Center.
Route 20, WAIKIKI – PEARLRIDGE
Service from the discontinued
Route 19 will be combined with the Route 20 schedule.
Route 20 will be realigned in the westbound
direction to operate on South Street instead of Alakea Street to provide a
connection at the Alapai Transit Center.
Eastbound:
No change.
Westbound:
TheBus will travel the regular westbound
route to Ala Moana Boulevard/South Street, right South Street, continue on
Alapai Street, left Beretania Street, and then resume the regular westbound
route to Kaonohi Street/Moanalua Loop.
Route 31,
TRIPLER – MAPUNAPUNA
Route 31 will be discontinued and replaced with new Route
301 (Tripler – Kalihi Transit Center) and Route 303
(Hickam – Kalihi Transit Center).
Route 32,
KALIHI TRANSIT CENTER – PEARLRIDGE
Service on Puuloa Road will be discontinued and replaced
by two-way service on Kikowaena Street, Ahua Street, and Pukoloa Street.
Eastbound:
No
change.
Westbound:
TheBus will
travel from Kalihi Transit Center, right Middle Street, left Kaua Street,
continue onto Kikowaena Street, left Ahua Street, right Pukoloa Street, onto
Salt Lake Boulevard, right Ala Napunani Street, and then resume the regular
westbound route to Kaonohi Street/Moanalua Loop.
Route 301,
Tripler – Kalihi Transit Center
Route 301 will provide direct service between Kalihi
Transit Center and Tripler Hospital and replaces the Tripler segment of
discontinued Route 31.
Eastbound:
TheBus will travel from Kalihi Transit
Center, right Middle Street, left Kaua Street, right Ala Mahamoe Street, right
Jarrett White Road, left Ward Road, right Patterson Road, and then travel right
ewa driveway to the bus stop fronting Tripler main entrance.
Westbound:
TheBus will travel from the bus stop
fronting Tripler main entrance, left exit to Patterson Road, left Patterson
Raod, onto Krukowski Road, right Jarrett White Road, left Ala Mahamoe Street,
left Kaua Street, right Funston Loop, right on-ramp to H-1 EAST, continue along
frontage road (King Street access), right Middle Street, and then travel left to
Kalihi Transit Center.
Route 302,
Moanalua Valley
Formerly Route 16. No changes in routing that provides service between Moanalua Valley, Red Hill, and Kalihi Transit Center.
Route 303,
Hickam – Airport – Kalihi Transit Center
Route 303 will provide service between Hickam, Airport,
and Kalihi Transit Center, and replaces the Hickam segment of discontinued Route
19 and the airport segment of discontinued Route 31.
Eastbound:
TheBus will travel left AMC Terminal Road, right Mamiya Avenue, left O’Malley
Boulevard, onto F Street, right Atterbury Circle, right Vickers Avenue, right
Fox Boulevard, right Vandenberg Boulevard, right overpass to Kuntz Avenue, EXIT
Kuntz Gate, left Elliott Street, right Nimitz Highway, right Rodgers Boulevard,
right Aolele Street, left ramp to Honolulu International Airport Upper Level
(OVERSEAS DEPARTURE), keep left on-ramp to H-EAST, take EXIT 18B “DILLINGHAM
BLVD/MIDDLE ST”, left Middle Street, and then turn right to Kalihi Transit
Center. NOTE: HICKAM AFB – KUNTZ GATE CLOSED DAILY 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. – TheBus
will travel the regular route to Vandenberg Boulevard/Freedom Avenue bus stop,
continue in the right lane, right Main Gate exit ramp, onto O’Malley Boulevard,
exit Main Gate, right Nimitz, take “Airport/Nimitz” ramp, onto Nimitz Highway,
and then resume the regular route after passing Eliiott Street.
Westbound: TheBus will travel from Kalihi Transit Center, left Middle, right on-ramp to H-1 WEST, take EXIT 16 “AIRPORT”, onto Honolulu International Airport Upper Level (OVERSEAS DEPARTURES), down ramp to Paiea Street, left Nimitz Highway, left Elliott Street, enter Hickam AFB through Kuntz Gate, Kuntz Avenue, overpass to Vandenberg Boulevard, Vandenberg Boulevard, left Fox Boulevard, left Vickers Avenue, right Atterbury Circle, right Vickers Avenue, left B Avenue, left Hangar Avenue, left C Avenue, right Vickers Avenue, right Atterbury Circle, right F Street, onto O’Malley Boulevard, right Mamiya Avenue, and then turn left to AMC Terminal Road. NOTE: HICKAM AFB – KUNTZ GATE CLOSED DAILY 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. – TheBus will travel the regular route on Nimitz Highway to Nimitz Highway/Aolele Street intersection/bus stop, continue west on Nimitz Highway, take “HICKAM AFB/PEARL HARBOR” ramp, onto Nimitz Highway, left on Hickam AFB to Main Gate, continue on O’Malley Boulevard, right Freedom Avenue, left Vandenberg Boulevard, and then resume the regular route to terminus.
