HIBISCUS HALF MARATHON

 

 

The HIBISCUS HALF MARATHON will be held on SUNDAY, MAY 26, 2024, starting at 3:30 a.m.  The race will begin on Kalakaua Avenue in front of the Kapiolani Bandstand; proceed through Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, Kahala, and Aina Haina areas, before returning to finish back at the Kapiolani Bandstand.  Approximately 900 runners are expected. 

 

HPD will be directing traffic at various locations. Operators should exercise caution and service the stops from the through traffic lane nearest the coned area where necessary. TheBus will service all stops along the detour route.

1, 8, 14, 20, 23, 24, 42, W1, W2, & W3

AFFECTED AREAS:

Abbreviated service in the Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, and Kahala areas.

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

                                                            ROUTE 1, KAIMUKI-KALIHI

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Waialae/Kilauea, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE 8, MAKIKI-ALA MOANA-WAIKIKI

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, to the temporary terminus at Leahi/Hinano.

 

Westbound:   From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 14, ST. LOUIS-MAUNALANI

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Poni Moi/Paki, left Paki, right Monsarrat, onto Diamond Head, left Kahala , left Pueo and then resume the regular route. 

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

 

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-ALOHA STADIUM

 

Eastbound:    No detour.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE 23, ALA MOANA-SEA LIFE PARK

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, onto Monsarrat, left 18th, right Kilauea to Kilauea/Waialae, continue on Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU-AINA HAINA

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Ala Wai, right Ala Wai, left Ohua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, continue the regular route to Hunakai/Waialae, right Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kilauea/22nd, right 22nd, right Kaimuki, right Luawai, left Kilauea, left Pahoa, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE W1, WAIPAHU VIA FARRINGTON EXPRESS

ROUTE W2, WAIPAHU VIA PAIWA EXPRESS

ROUTE W3, KALIHI VIA SCHOOL STREET EXPRESS
