MAYOR’S ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY & PARADE

The MAYOR’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY & PARADE will be held on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2025. The parade will begin at Aala Park, proceed on King Street, and end at King Street / South Street.

AFFECTED AREA:	Abbreviated service in the Downtown area.

TIME:	From 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., or unless directed by Police.

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

NOTE: The westbound curb lane will be closed for the staging of parade vehicles on North King Street between King/Beretania Junction and River Street.

ROUTE 1, KALIHI-KAHALA ROUTE 1L, HALAWA-HAWAII KAI

ROUTE 2, SCHOOL-WAIKIKI-KAHALA ROUTE 2L, KALIHI-WAIKIKI-KAHALA LIMITED

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Beretania, left Beretania, right River, left Hotel, left Alakea, onto Queen Emma, right Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Beretania/Punchbowl, continue on Beretania onto King, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 3, KAIMUKI-SALT LAKE ROUTE 13, LILIHA-WAIKIKI-UNIVERSITY

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Beretania, left Beretania, right River, left Hotel, left Alakea, onto Queen Emma, right Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, right Ward, left Kapiolani, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Beretania/Punchbowl, continue on Beretania onto King, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 4, NUUANU-PUNAHOU-MCCULLY

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Nuuanu/Hotel, left Hotel, left Alakea, onto Queen Emma, right Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, left Alapai Transit Center, and then the resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Beretania/Punchbowl, continue on Beretania, left Maunakea, left Hotel, left Bethel, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 6, PAUOA-WOODLAWN

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Queen Emma/Vineyard, left Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, right Cooke, right Halekauwila, right Keawe, right Queen, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Queen/South, right South, onto Alapai, left Beretania, left Richards, right Hotel, right Alakea, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 66, DOWNTOWN-KAILUA-AIKAHI

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Vineyard, left Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, left into the Alapai Transit Center and terminate inside Alapai Transit.

Westbound: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus inside the Alapai Transit Center, right Alapai, left Beretania, left Richards, right Hotel, right Alakea, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 122, PUNCHBOWL-ALAPAI TRANSIT CENTER

Eastbound: No service.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Queen Emma/Vineyard, left Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, left Alapai Transit Center.

ROUTE 151, CHINATOWN-KUAKINI-KAULUWELA

Eastbound: No service.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Vineyard, veer right onto Fort Street, right Beretania to King/Beretania Junction, veer right onto King, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS! E

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Vineyard, left Vineyard, right Lusitana, right Alapai, cross Beretania, onto Alapai (contra-flow lane), left King, right Ward, left Kapiolani, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: No detour.

AFTER PARADE DETOURS

After the parade ends on King Street in front of Honolulu Hale (King/Punchbowl intersection), HPD will re-direct ALL EASTBOUND King Street traffic to turn right on Punchbowl. Buses will then DETOUR as indicated below:

Routes 1, 1L, 2, & 2L: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Punchbowl (King Kamehameha Statue), continue in the right lane of King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, left South, right King, and then resume the regular route.

Routes 4, 51 & 54: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Punchbowl (King Kamehameha Statue), continue in the right lane of King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, left South, right King, left Alapai Transit Center.

Routes 3, 13, 40, 51, 52, C, E, & A LINE: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Punchbowl (King Kamehameha Statue), continue in the right lane of King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, left South, right Kapiolani, and then resume the regular route.
