KONA STREET PAVING PROJECT –

WINDWARD TERMINUS CLOSURE

 

 

BROOKFIELD PROPERTIES will continue their road paving work with Phase 2 on Kona Street for the Ala Moana Shopping Center. This phase of the project will affect the traffic flow between Kona Iki Street and Keeaumoku Street on Kona Street.  Therefore, the terminus for the windward buses located at Kona Street / Opposite Kona Iki Street (stop #425) will be closed, 24 HOURS A DAY / 7 DAYS A WEEK, starting from 9:30 a.m. on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2025, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  Passengers may alight buses at the bus stop located at Kona Iki Street / Kona Street (stop #4790) or at the temporary bus stop located 100 feet prior to the Kona Street / Piikoi Street intersection.

 

Passengers are not allowed to board the buses at the temporary terminus for the Windward buses.

 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

60, 65, 67, & 88A

AFFECTED AREAS:

No service at Kona Street / opposite Kona Iki Street (stop #425).

DATES:

Starting from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, until further notice

TIME:

24 hours a day / 7 days a week, or unless directed by Police.

 

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 60, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-HALEIWA

ROUTE 65, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-AHUIMANU

ROUTE 67, HONOLULU-KAILUA-WAIMANALO

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Piikoi/Kona, continue on Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, right Kona to temporary terminus at Kona/Piikoi.

 

Westbound:   From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Kona, continue on Kona, right Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 88A, NORTH SHORE EXPRESS

 

Eastbound:    From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Kona, continue on Kona, right Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Piikoi/Kona, continue on Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, right Kona to temporary terminus at Kona/Piikoi.
