KONA STREET PAVING PROJECT –

WINDWARD TERMINUS CLOSURE

 

 

BROOKFIELD PROPERTIES will continue their road work with Phase 2 on Kona Street between Kona Iki Street and Keeaumoku Street.  Therefore, the terminus for the windward buses at Kona Street / Opposite Kona Iki Street (stop #425) will be closed, 24 HOURS A DAY / 7 DAYS A WEEK, starting from 7:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2026, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  Passengers may alight buses at the bus stop at Kona Iki Street / Kona Street (stop #4790) or at the temporary bus stop located 100 feet prior to the Kona Street / Piikoi Street intersection.

 

Passengers may not board the buses at the temporary terminus for the Windward buses.

 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

60, 65, 67, & 88A

AFFECTED AREAS:

No service at Kona Street / opposite Kona Iki Street (stop #425).

DATES:

Starting from 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, until further notice

TIME:

24 hours a day / 7 days a week, or unless directed by Police.

 

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 60, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-HALEIWA

ROUTE 65, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-AHUIMANU

ROUTE 67, HONOLULU-KAILUA-WAIMANALO

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Piikoi/Kona, continue on Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, right Kona to temporary terminus at Kona/Piikoi.

 

Westbound:   From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Kona, right Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 88A, NORTH SHORE EXPRESS

 

Eastbound:    From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Kona, right Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Piikoi/Kona, continue on Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, right Kona to temporary terminus at Kona/Piikoi.
