ONIPA’A COMMEMORATION AND PEACE MARCH

 

 

The ONIPA’A COMMEMORATION AND PEACE MARCH will be on FRIDAY, JANUARY 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The procession will start at the Mauna’ala Royal Mausoleum, proceed makai on Nuuanu, continue to Beretania, left onto one makai lane of Beretania, right into the Kokohead lane of Richards, left onto one mauka lane of King, and finish at Iolani Palace. HPD will close the makai travel lanes on Nuuanu Avenue, from Wyllie Street to Beretania Street.

AFFECTED AREAS:

There will be no eastbound service on Nuuanu Avenue, between Pali Highway and King Street, and westbound service between Pauoa Road and Pali Highway.

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 4, NUUANU-PUNAHOU-McCULLY

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus, right Nuuanu, right Pauoa, right Funchal, onto Pali Hwy, continue on Pali, onto Bishop, left King, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Nuuanu/Pauoa, right Pauoa, right Funchal, onto Pali Hwy, right Kuakini to the temporary terminus on the nearside of Kuakini/Nuuanu.

 

 

ROUTE 151, CHINATOWN-KUAKINI-KAULUWELA

 

Eastbound:    No detour.

 

Westbound: No detour.
