H-1 FREEWAY WATERLINE WORK IMPROVEMENTS

 

HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION will conduct waterline work to tie in the new 36-inch waterline being constructed as part of the Interstate H-1 Freeway improvements eastbound between Ola Lane overpass to Likelike Highway overpass and westbound between Halona Street on-ramp and Ola Lane overpass.  Therefore, the on-ramps to H-1 Freeway will be closed, starting at 9:00 p.m. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2026, THROUGH 4:30 a.m. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2026.

 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

3, 53, & 54

AFFECTED AREA:

On-ramps to H-1 Freeway eastbound between Ola Lane overpass to Likelike Highway overpass and westbound between Halona Street on-ramp and Ola Lane overpass.

STARTING:

9:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 through

ENDING:

4:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, unless directed by Police.

 

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 3, KAIMUKI-SALT LAKE

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Moanalua/Funston Road overpass, veer right to take King Street on-ramp, continue on King, left Houghtailing, right Olomea, onto Vineyard, and then resume the regular route.      

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Vineyard/Palama, remain on Vineyard, onto Halona, left Houghtailing, right King, veer right onto Ola, veer onto Kaua, continue on Kaua, and then resume the regular route after passing Funston.

 

ROUTE 53, HONOLULU-PACIFIC PALISADES

ROUTE 54, HONOLULU-PEARL CITY

 

Eastbound:    No detour.    

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Vineyard/Palama, remain on Vineyard, onto Halona, left Houghtailing, right King, veer right onto Ola, veer onto Kaua, crossover Middle, veer left to take 78 WEST ‘MOANALUA FREEWAY’ on-ramp, and then resume the regular route.
