HONOLULU TRIATHLON RACE

 

 

The HONOLULU TRIATHLON RACE will be on SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2026.  This event involves a 1.5K swim off Magic Island, a 40K bike ride from Ala Moana Beach Park to Lagoon Drive, and a 10K run inside Ala Moana Beach Park.

 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

6, 7, 10, 40, 42, 51, 60, 65, 66, 67, 306, E, W1, W2, A LINE, & W LINE

AFFECTED AREAS:

No eastbound service on Ala Moana Boulevard, Nimitz Highway, and Kamehameha Highway.

From 3:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., unless directed by Police.

 

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 6, PAUOA-WOODLAWN

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Auahi/Kamakee, left Kamakee, right Queen, onto Waimanu, left Piikoi, right Kona, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE 7, KALIHI VALLEY-KAHALA

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Mokauea/Kalani, left Kalani, left Kalihi, right Dillingham, right King, after crossing over Iwilei, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE 10, KALIHI-ALEWA HEIGHTS

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Mokauea/King (Zippy’s), continue on Mokauea, left Hau, right Kalihi, right Kalani, right Mokauea, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Mokauea/King (Zippy’s), and then terminate at the stop.

 

ROUTE 40, HONOLULU-MAKAHA

ROUTE 51, HONOLULU-WAHIAWA

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Lagoon/Nimitz, cross over Nimitz, onto Puuloa, right Pukoloa, left Ahua, right Kikowaena, onto Moanalua Frontage Rd, take on-ramp to King, right Middle, left Kamehameha, onto Dillingham, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Middle, right Middle, left Kaua, onto H201 WEST, take ‘EXIT 3 PUULOA RD / TRIPLER HOSPITAL’, left ‘7310 SOUTH / AIRPORT’, onto Puuloa, cross over Nimitz, onto Lagoon, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Lagoon/Nimitz, cross over Nimitz, onto Puuloa, right Pukoloa, left Ahua, right Kikowaena, onto Moanalua Frontage Rd, take on-ramp to King, right Middle, left Kamehameha, onto Dillingham, right King, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, right Mahukona, right Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Middle, right Middle, left Kaua, onto H201 WEST, take ‘EXIT 3 PUULOA RD / TRIPLER HOSPITAL’, left ‘7310 SOUTH / AIRPORT’, onto Puuloa, cross over Nimitz, onto Lagoon, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 60, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-HALEIWA

ROUTE 65, HONOLULU-KANEOHE-AHUIMANU

ROUTE 66, DOWNTOWN-KAILUA-AIKAHI

ROUTE 67, HONOLULU-KAILUA-WAIMANALO

 

Eastbound:    AMC/Kona Keys- TheBus will travel the regular route to Bishop/King, continue on Bishop, left Queen, onto Waimanu, left Piikoi, right Kona to the terminus.

 

Eastbound:    Bishop/King Keys - No detour.

 

Westbound:   Bishop/King Keys – TheBus will travel from Bishop/King, left Queen, left Alakea, and then resume the regular route.

 

Car House to starting point Alakea/Nimitz: TheBus will travel the regular out-of-service route to Bishop/King, continue on Bishop, left Queen, left Alakea, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 306, KAHAUIKI VILLAGE

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalihi Transit Center driveway, left Middle, left Kamehameha, onto Dillingham, right Kalihi, right Nimitz, right Mokauea, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS! E

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapiolani/Kamakee, continue on Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, right Mahukona, right Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   No detour.

 

ROUTE W1, WAIPAHU VIA FARRINGTON EXPRESS

ROUTE W2, WAIPAHU VIA PAIWA EXPRESS

 

A.M. Operation:   TheBus will travel the regular route to H-1 EAST/Airport area, continue on H-1 EAST, take EXIT 23, “PUNAHOU ST,” right Punahou, right Beretania, left Kalakaua, right Kapiolani, left Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE A LINE

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Lagoon/Nimitz, cross over Nimitz, onto Puuloa, take ‘H201 EAST HONOLULU’, onto Moanalua Frontage Rd, veer left to merge onto ‘H201 EAST HONOLULU’, onto ‘H1 EAST’, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to ‘H1 WEST’ / ‘EXIT 19B ‘H201 WEST / FORT SHAFTER / AIEA’, veer left to continue on ‘EXIT 19B ‘H201 WEST / FORT SHAFTER / AIEA’, take ‘EXIT 3 PUULOA RD / TRIPLER HOSPITAL’, left ‘7310 SOUTH / AIRPORT’, onto Puuloa, cross over Nimitz, onto Lagoon, and then resume the regular route.

 

 

ROUTE W LINE

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Lagoon/Nimitz, cross over Nimitz, onto Puuloa, take ‘H201 EAST HONOLULU’, onto Moanalua Frontage Rd, take on-ramp to King, right Middle, left Kamehameha (service Route C bus stops only), onto Dillingham, right King, right Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, right Mahukona, right Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Nimitz/Kalihi, right Kalihi, left Dillingham, onto Kamehameha, right Middle, left Kaua, onto H201 WEST, take ‘EXIT 3 PUULOA RD / TRIPLER HOSPITAL’, left ‘7310 SOUTH / AIRPORT’, onto Puuloa, cross over Nimitz, onto Lagoon, and then resume the regular route.
