ALOHA FESTIVALS WAIKIKI HO’OLAULEA 

The ALOHA FESTIVALS WAIKIKI HO’OLAULEA will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2018.  This event will close all traffic lanes/sidewalk areas on Kalakaua Ave. between Seaside Ave. and Ohua St. from 3:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

No service on Kalakaua Ave. from Olohana to Kapahulu Ave.

Eastbound:   From the terminus at Niu/Kalakaua, TheBus will travel left Kalakaua, left Kuhio, right Kapahulu, left Kalakaua, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  No detour.

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Saratoga/Kalakaua, continue on Saratoga, onto Kalaimoku, right Kuhio, right Kapahulu, left Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  No detour.

 


2018 RICE FESTIVAL 

The 2018 RICE FESTIVAL will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  This event will close all lanes of Auahi St. between Queen St. and Kamakee St.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

High School Homecoming Parades 

 

Several public high school homecoming parades will be held during the months of September and October.  These parades will travel along City bus routes which may impact bus operations.  

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2018

 

MOANALUA HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 3:00 P.M.

Six hundred marchers, ten vehicles, one float, and a band are expected to participate.  The parade will start at MHS student parking lot, proceed onto Ala Ilima, right Ala Nanala, right Likini, right Ala Napunani, and end at MHS student parking lot.

 

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2018

 

WAIALUA HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 4:00 P.M.

Seven hundred marchers, twenty vehicles, ten floats, and two bands are expected to participate.  The vehicles will start at the school parking lot, proceed onto Farrington Hwy., left Kaukonahua, through Haleiwa Town, left Haleiwa Beach Rd., and right Waialua Beach Rd. The marchers will join the vehicles at the Waialua Recreation Center and proceed together onto Goodale, right Farrington Hwy., and end at the school gym.

 

RADFORD HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 4:30 P.M.

Three hundred marchers, twelve vehicles, one float, and a band are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Radford High School parking lot; proceed onto Ala Oli St., left Haloa, right Molina, left Epukane St., left Hakupapa, left Haloa Dr., right Ala Oli St., and end at the school parking lot.

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2018

 

WAIPAHU HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 3:15 P.M.

Three hundred marchers, four vehicles, one float, and a band are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Waipahu High School, to Waipio Access Rd., onto Kahualii St., right Kahuaina St., left Kahuanani St., left Paiwa, onto Awanui, left Awalai St., left Waipio Access Rd., and end at Waipahu High School parking lot.

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018

 

PEARL CITY HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 2:30 P.M.

Five hundred marchers, six vehicles, and a band are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Pearl City High School, onto Hookiekie St., left Hoomoana St., left Hoolaulea St., right Hoomaemae St., left Waimano Home Rd., and end at Pacheco Neighborhood Park.

 

NANAKULI HIGH & INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL STARTING AT 4:00 P.M.

One hundred marchers, ten vehicles, four floats, and a band are expected to participate.  The parade will start at 89-235 Pua Ave, left onto Nanakuli Ave., mauka on Nanakuli Ave., ending at 89-980 Nanakuli Ave., NH&IS parking lot. 

                                                                                                         


EASTBOUND CLOSURE OF KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY  (CENTER DRIVE TO VALKENBURG STREET)

The eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Hwy., from Center Dr. to Valkenburgh St., will be closed from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. weeknights starting on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2018, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  TheBus will service all stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Radford, left Radford, right Bougainville, right Valkenburgh, left Nimitz, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE A, CITY EXPRESS! A

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Radford, left Radford, right Bougainville, right Valkenburgh, left Nimitz, right Rodgers, right Aolele, left up ramp to Airport Upper Level, take on-ramp to H-1 EAST, take EXIT 18B “DILLINGHAM BLVD/MIDDLE”, and then resume the regular route.

AIRPORT UPPER LEVEL EWA BUS STOP closure 

The Airport Upper Level Main Terminal Ewa bus stop will be closed nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. starting on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2018, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Traffic will be diverted through the Airport Upper Level Makai lanes after the Airport Upper Level Interisland Terminal. Passengers may board buses at the portable stop located curbside by the International Departures.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Airport Upper Level/Interisland Terminal, left to the overseas terminals (makai lanes), service curbside portable, crossing over into the mauka lanes after the International Terminal, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Airport Upper Level/Interisland Terminal, left to the overseas terminals (makai lanes), service curbside portable, crossing over into the mauka lanes after the International Terminal, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 31 TRIPLER – MAPUNAPUNA 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Airport Upper Level/Interisland Terminal, left to the overseas terminals (makai lanes), service curbside portable, crossing over into the mauka lanes after the International Terminal, and then resume the regular route.

WAIANAE AVENUE ROAD CLOSURE 

Waianae Ave. will be closed weekdays between McCornack Rd. and Ayres Ave. starting on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Wilikina/Macomb Gate, continue on Wilikina, left McCornack (McNair Gate), right Ayres (guard shack), left Cadet Sheridan, left Trimble, right Foote, left Flagler, left Waianae, to the terminus at Waianae/Gorgas. 

Westbound:  From the terminus at Waianae/Gorgas, TheBus will continue on Waianae, right McCornack, exit McNair Gate, right Wilikina, and then resume the regular route after crossing Macomb Gate. 

 


KANEOHE MARINE BASE MOKAPU GATE CLOSURE 

The Mokapu Gate into Kaneohe Marine Base will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week effective THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2018, until further notice.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Burns Fwy., enter Main Gate, onto St., right Mokapu, right Harris, right Selden, veer left on 3rd St., left St., exit base onto John A. Burns Freeway, right EXIT 15 KANEOHE BAY DRIVE, right Kaneohe Bay Dr., onto N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular route. 


FARRINGTON HIGHWAY P.M. CONTRAFLOW 

The Farrington Hwy. Afternoon Contraflow will begin on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The eastbound lanes along Farrington Hwy. will be reduced to one lane and will restrict left turns onto Nanakuli Ave.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.
