36th ANNUAL TINMAN TRIATHLON

The ANNUAL TINMAN TRIATHLON will be held on SUNDAY, JULY 24, 2016.  The event will take place along roadways in the Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, Kahala, and East Honolulu areas. The event starts at 5:20 a.m.  Approximately 800 participants are expected to enter this event. 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

1, 9, 14, 19, 20, 22, 23, & 24

AFFECTED AREA:

Service along Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, Kahala, and East Honolulu areas.

TIME:

From 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or as directed by HPD

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below: 

ROUTE 1, KAIMUKI-KALIHI 

Eastbound:   To Kahala Mall - TheBus will travel the regular route to the Waialae/Hunakai bus stop, continue east on Waialae, right Kilauea, right Pahoa, right Hunakai to the temporary terminus at Waialae/Hunakai. 

Eastbound:   To Hawaii Kai - TheBus will travel the regular route to Waialae/Kilauea, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound: From Kahala Mall - From the temporary terminus at Hunakai/Waialae, TheBus will continue on Hunakai crossing over Waialae, right Kilauea, right Waialae, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound: From Hawaii Kai - TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, right Waialae, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 9, KAIMUKI-PEARL HARBOR

Eastbound:   No detour.

Westbound:  From Alohea/Pokole, TheBus will travel right Pokole, right Kilauea, left 18th, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 14, ST. LOUIS-MAUNALANI 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Kalakaua, left Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right Hunakai, left Kolohala, right Farmers, left Pueo, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  No detour.

ROUTE 19, WAIKIKI-AIRPORT-HICKAM

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-PEARLRIDGE

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalakaua/Monsarrat, then left Monsarrat to the temporary terminus at Monsarrat/Kalakaua.

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Monsarrat/Kalakaua TheBus will continue on Monsarrat, left Paki, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 22, BEACH BUS

Eastbound:  From Kalakaua/Kapahulu, TheBus will continue on Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, and then resume the regular route after crossing Waialae Ave.

ROUTE 23, HAWAII KAI-SEA LIFE PARK 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Diamond Head/Makapuu, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, and then resume the regular route after crossing Waialae.

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU-AINA HAINA-ALA MOANA 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Diamond Head/Makapuu, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right 22nd, left Huanui, left Puu Panini, right Kilauea, left Pahoa, right Hunakai, right Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Eastbound:   Hunakai/Waialae to Ani/Hind Iuka Key: From Hunakai/Waialae, right Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, and then resume the regular route after crossing Waialae.


KAMEHAMEHA/PALI MOMI INTERSECTION CLOSURE 

The Kamehameha/Pali Momi intersection will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday starting THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2016, until further notice. All stops along the detoured route will be serviced.

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-PEARLRIDGE

ROUTE 32, KALIHI-PEARLRIDGE 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali Momi/Kamehameha, right Kamehameha, U-turn at Lipoa, continue east on Kamehameha, and then resume the regular route after crossing Pali Momi. 

Westbound:  No detour.

 


KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY CLOSURE WESTBOUND 

All westbound lanes of Kamehameha Hwy. from Salt Lake Blvd. to the Moanalua Off-Ramp onto Kamehameha Hwy. will be closed Monday through Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. starting on MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2016, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE due to roadwork.

AFFECTED AREA:

Kamehameha Hwy. westbound from Salt Lake Blvd to the Moanalua Off-Ramp onto Kamehameha.

Starting Monday June 20, 2016, until further notice

TIME:

8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

ROUTE 32, KALIHI-PEARLRIDGE 

Eastbound:   No detour. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Salt Lake/Kamehameha, right Kamehameha, onto Aiea Access Rd., left Moanalua, left Laulima, right Kamehameha and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 40, HONOLULU-MAKAHA

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

ROUTE 62, HONOLULU-WAHIAWA

ROUTE A, CITY EXPRESS! A

Eastbound:   No detour. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Salt Lake, continue on Kamehameha, onto Aiea Access Rd., left Moanalua, left Laulima, right Kamehameha and then resume the regular route.

 


PAVING AT TRIPLER HOSPITAL 

Ward Rd. will be closed from MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2016, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, due to roadwork in the area. Operators should inform passengers of the detour and service all bus stops along the detour route.

ROUTE 31, TRIPLER-MAPUNAPUNA 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Jarrett White/Ward, continue on Jarrett White, left Patterson, left to the terminus, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  No detour. 


KANEOHE MARINE BASE – SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT 

Beginning TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2016, until further notice, the intersection at Selden St. and Harris Ave. will be closed weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sewer line replacement.  

Note:  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   No detour. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Mokapu/Harris, continue on Mokapu, left Craig, right Selden, and then  resume the regular route.

 


KANEOHE MARINE BASE – WEEKEND BACK GATE CLOSURE  

The back gate of Kaneohe Marine Base will be closed on weekends effective SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2016, until further notice.  All bus stops along the detour route will be serviced.

ROUTE 70, LANIKAI-MAUNAWILI  

Eastbound:   No detour. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to N.Kalaheo/Mokapu Rd., continue straight ahead onto Kaneohe Bay Dr., right onto access to Kaneohe Marine Base, onto John A. Burns Fwy., enter main gate, onto “G” St., right Mokapu, right Harris, right Selden, veer left on 3rd St., left “G” St., exit base onto John A. Burns Freeway, right EXIT 15 “KANEOHE BAY DRIVE”, left Kaneohe Bay Dr., onto N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular route.                  

                                                                                                  


FARRINGTON AT WAIAWA CONTRA-FLOW

 

Beginning WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2016, until further notice, there will be road work associated with the rail project on Farrington Hwy., prior to Waiawa in the eastbound lanes. Eastbound traffic will be diverted onto the westbound lanes, which will require the closure of the westbound stop at Farrington/Waiawa (Leeward Community College).

DATE:

Beginning Wednesday March 2, 2016, until further notice.

ROUTE A, CITY EXPRESS! A

ROUTE 40, HONOLULU-MAKAHA

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Farrington/Waipio Point Access, continue on Farrington traveling in the far left lane to enter the crossover into the westbound lanes, right Waiawa, left Farrington, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:            No Detour. NOTE: TheBus will not service Farrington/Waiawa (LCC) bus stop. 

ROUTE 62, HONOLULU-WAHIAWA 

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Waipahu St., right Waipahu, left Kahuanui, left Kahualii, left Farrington, continue on Farrington traveling in the far left lane to enter the crossover into the westbound lanes, right Waiawa, left Farrington, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  No Detour. NOTE: TheBus will not service Farrington/Waiawa (LCC) bus stop. 

 


ROUTE 44 DETOUR – GEIGER ROAD 

The Route 44 will be detoured eastbound due to roadwork and paving along Geiger Rd. from Kapolei Parkway, beginning TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2016, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapolei Parkway/Geiger, continue on Kapolei Parkway, left Launahele, left Geiger, and then resume regular route after crossing Kapolei Parkway. 

Westbound: No detour. 

 


ROUTE E DETOUR – KONA STREET 

Beginning MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2015, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, Route E eastbound will be detoured to service the stops at Kona/Keeaumoku (farside), Mahukona/Atkinson and Ala Moana/Atkinson.    

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS! 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapiolani/Pensacola, continue on Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, onto Mahukona, right Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound: No Detour.
