FARRINGTON HIGHWAY CLOSURE -

AWALAU TO PAIWA 

Beginning THURSDAY, AUGUST 14, 2014, TO FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2014, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, Farrington Highway will be closed from Awalau Street to Paiwa Street. 

AFFECTED AREA:

No service on Farrington Highway from Awalau Street to Paiwa Street.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Hikimoe/Mokuola, left Mokuola, right Puko, right Paiwa, left Kahuanui, and then resume the regular route.  

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kahuanui/Paiwa, right Paiwa, left Puko, left Mokuola, right Farrington, and then resume the regular route. 

 

ROUTE 433, WAIPAHU-WAIKELE SHOPPING CENTER 

Eastbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Farrington/Paiwa, merge over to the left lane to continue on Farrington, left Kahualii, left Kahuanui, right Paiwa, and then resume the regular route.

NORMAN TAMANAHA 15K MEMORIAL RUN

 

The NORMAN TAMANAHA 15K MEMORIAL RUN will be held on SUNDAY, AUGUST 24, 2014. 

 

Run Course:  Begins at Kalakaua Ave., to Monsarrat Ave., to Paki Ave., to Diamond Head Rd., to

          Paikau St., to 22nd Ave., to Kilauea Ave., to Waialae Ave., to Kealaolu St., to Kahala Ave., to

          Diamond Head Rd., to Kalakaua Ave., to end at Honolulu Marathon Finish Line. 

 

Note:  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.  

AFFECTED AREA:

No service in the Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, 18th Avenue, Kilauea, and Kahala areas.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Poni Moi/Paki, left Paki, right Monsarrat, onto Diamond Head Road, left 18th, right Kilauea, right Hunakai, left Kolohala, right Farmers, left Pueo, right Kilauea, and then resume the regular route.

CRANE LIFT ON KOKO HEAD AVENUE 

A portion of Koko Head Avenue will be closed on TUESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2014, due to a crane lift in the area.

MAHUKONA ROAD CLOSURE

Beginning MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2014, Ideal Construction will be closing Mahukona Street for water main work from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

TheBus will service all stops along the detour route.

No eastbound service at Mahukona/Kapiolani.   Board buses at Kona/Keeaumoku or Kaheka/Kanunu.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Farrington/Kualakai, left Kualakai, right H-1 EAST, take EXIT 5 KUNIA, onto Fort Weaver, right EXIT 5 WAIPAHU, onto Farrington, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route Farrington/Kunia, right Kunia, left Makakilo/Kapolei/Waianae on-ramp to H-1 WEST, take EXIT 3 KAPOLEI/EWA/UH WEST OAHU, left Kualakai, right Farrington, and then resume the regular route.


ROAD WORK FOR GUTTER REPAIRS 

FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS BEGINNING MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2014, Okada Trucking will be repairing the gutters along Puhala Rise.  During the project, a temporary bus stop will be placed along Woodlawn near Waipuna Rise and Puhala Rise.   

AFFECTED AREA:

No service on Alani Drive from Woodlawn to Puhala Rise. 

Board westbound buses at Woodlawn/Waipuna or Woodlawn/Puhala.

KONA STREET CONTRA-FLOW 

Beginning MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2014, THROUGH FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 2014, the eastbound lanes of Kona Street will be closed between Kona Iki and Keeaumoku due to construction.  Eastbound traffic on Kona Street will be contra-flowed to the westbound side of the median.  Because of possible turning conflicts Routes 17 and 18 will be detoured to enter AMC via Keeaumoku.  

TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.  

AFFECTED AREA:

Additional Stop at Kapiolani/Keeaumoku will be serviced.

Traffic AdvisoRY -

FARRINGTON AT MOKUOLA AND WAIPAHU DEPOT ROAD  

 

Beginning WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2014, TO FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2014, Kiewit construction will be doing road work associated with the rail project at the intersections of Farrington/Mokuola and Farrington/Waipahu Depot.  This work will prevent left turns from Farrington onto Waipahu Depot and left turns from Mokuola onto Farrington.

Ala Moana/Coral
Eastbound Bus Stop

Beginning MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2014, for approximately one year, Swinerton Builders will be remodeling 677 Ala Moana Boulevard.  This work will result in the closure of the Ala Moana/Coral eastbound bus stop (#952).  A temporary bus stop will be located Diamond Head of Coral Street fronting Cutter Chevrolet.

ROUTE 52: WAHIAWA-HALEIWA DETOUR

The following Route 52, Honolulu-Mililani-Haleiwa DETOUR in Wahiawa/Haleiwa Town area will remain in effect until further notice. The City's Department of Transportation Services/Public Transit Division is currently evaluating a PERMANENT routing for this area of travel.

Westbound from Wahiawa Transit Center to Haleiwa Town: TheBus will travel the regular route west from Wahiawa Transit Center to Kamehameha Highway towards Haleiwa Town. At the Kamehameha Highway/Weed Junction intersection, DETOUR by continuing WEST on Joseph P. Leong Highway, left onto Kamehameha Highway into Haleiwa Town from the Haleiwa Beach Park area, continue EAST on Kamehameha Highway to the TEMPORARY TERMINUS on Kamehameha Highway at Achiu Lane.

Eastbound from Haleiwa Town (Kamehameha Highway/Achiu Lane) to Wahiawa Transit Center: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus, east on Kamehameha Highway through Haleiwa Town, left at Weed Circle, right onto the access ramp to Kamehameha Highway East. Proceed east on Kamehameha Highway and at the Kamehameha Highway/Kilani Avenue intersection, turn left Kilani Avenue, right N. Cane Street, right California Avenue, right Wahiawa Transit Center.
