2022 KANEOHE BAY AIR SHOW SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE 

The 2022 Kaneohe Bay Air Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 13 – 14, 2022, at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH).  

One (1) Route 674 Kailua-Aikahi supplementary bus with the extension to MCBH will provide service from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. between Kailua Road/Hamakua Drive and MCBH.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

TheBus will service all bus stops along the route. 

Kailua Road/Hamakua Drive to Marine Corps Base Hawaii:

(See Zoom Schedule note) TheBus will travel on Kailua Road, Kuulei Road, left North Kalaheo Avenue, cross Mokapu Road onto Kaneohe Bay Drive, right Ilihau Street, right Aikahi Loop, left Mokapu Road into MCBH back gate, and then turn left at the second Crescent Drive. Zoom Schedule: TheBus will operate Zoom Scheduling from Kailua Road/Hamakua Drive to end of trip. TheBus will not depart Kailua Road/Hamakua Drive early. 

Marine Corps Base Hawaii to Kailua Road/Hamakua Drive:

(See Zoom Schedule note) TheBus will travel on Crescent Drive, right Mokapu Road out the back gate, left North Kalaheo Avenue, right Kuulei Road, Kailua Road, right Hoolai Street, left Kihapai Street, left Kainehe Street, and then turn left Kailua Road. Zoom Schedule: TheBus will operate Zoom Scheduling from Crescent Drive to end of trip. TheBus will not depart Crescent Drive early except for the last trip. On the last trip, TheBus will depart as directed by MCBH personnel. 

 


HELICOPTER LIFT ON KAMAKEE STREET

COMMERCIAL ROOFING & WATERPROOFING HI, Inc. will be conducting a crane lift for the Consuelo Building on Hotel Street.  The westbound bus stop located at Hotel Street / Kekaulike Street (stop #50), will be relocated on MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.  Passengers may board buses at the portable bus stop placed 100 feet past the stop.

HELICOPTER LIFT ON KAMAKEE STREET

PARADISE HELICOPTERS will be conducting a helicopter lift on Kamakee Street for Impact Hub.  A portion of Kamakee Street will be closed between Kawaihao Street and Queen Street, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., on SATURDAY, AUGUST 6, 2022.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapiolani/Kamakee, right Kamakee, left Waimanu, right Queen, left Kamakee, left Ala Moana, after passing Atkinson, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Piikoi, continue on Ala Moana, right Kamakee, right Queen, left Waimanu, right Kamakee, left Kapiolani, and then resume the regular route.


27th ANNUAL OAHU HEART WALK

The 27th ANNUAL OAHU HEART WALK will be held on SATURDAY, August 6, 2022, starting at 7:30 a.m.  This charity walk is expected to have 2,500 walkers.  The event will start at Queen Kapiolani Park, onto Kalakaua Avenue, proceed to Monsarrat Avenue, turn right onto Paki Avenue to travel on makai lanes, onto Kalakaua Avenue, to end at the ewa tennis courts of Queen Kapiolani Park.

TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route. During the walk, there will be no service on Monsarrat between Kalakaua and Paki.  Passengers may board westbound buses at Paki/Monsarrat.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel from Leahi/Hinano, continue on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route.

 

ROUTE 23, ALA MOANA-SEA LIFE PARK

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:  No detour.

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU-AINA HAINA

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Ala Wai, right Ala Wai, left Ohua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE W1, WAIPAHU VIA FARRINGTON EXPRESS

KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY CLOSURE – CENTER DRIVE TO RADFORD DRIVE 

There will be ongoing rail work to the Pearl Harbor Rail Station, and Kamehameha Highway will be closed in both directions from Center Drive to Radford Drive.  The closure will be starting on TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2022, THROUGH WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2022, (Mondays through Fridays), from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.  TheBus will service all stops along the detour route.

ROUTE 11, MAKALAPA-HALAWA-AIEA HEIGHTS 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Bougainville/Radford, right Radford, left Center, left Kamehameha, and then resume the regular route.                                   

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Center, right Center, right Radford, and then resume the regular route.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – FARRINGTON HIGHWAY DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

INTEGRATED CONSTRUCTION, INC will be conducting work to install drainage improvements along Farrington Highway, between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road for the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., starting on MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2022, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  This drainage improvement project will affect the traffic flow through the area and will cause delays throughout the duration of the work.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – H-1 FREEWAY ON-RAMP CLOSURE FROM HONOLULU AIRPORT

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), Highways Division, will be conducting full nightly closures of the westbound and eastbound on-ramps from the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL Airport) to the H-1 Freeway, starting on SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2022, UNTIL FURHTER NOTICE. During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto Paiea Street and to Nimitz Highway, where they may access the H-1 Freeway. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Airport Upper Level, proceed down ramp to Paiea, continue on Paiea, right Nimitz, left Puuloa, right Pukoloa, left Ahua, right Kikowaena access road to H-1 EAST, onto King St, right Middle, left Kalihi Transit Center, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  No detour.

 


ADVISORY – UTILITY WORK ON ALAKEA STREET

Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. will be closing a portion of Alakea Street between Hotel Street and Beretania Street for utility connections to a new building, starting on SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 2022, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, from 7:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Sunday to Thursday.  During the utility connections, three lanes of Alakea Street will be closed.

Traffic Advisory – Waianae Transit Center – Lighting Improvements, 3/16/2022

TEMPORARY MAKAHA BEACH TERMINUS RELOCATION

Grace Pacific LLC will be conducting construction work for the Makaha Bridges. The Makaha Beach terminus located at Farrington Highway and Makaha Beach Park (stop #578) will be relocated to Farrington Highway and Upena Street [West] (stop #604), starting on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2022, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

In an effort to preserve the availability and capabilities of security forces and to reduce traffic, there will be a reduction of operations at the JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR - HICKAM KUNTZ GATE.  Buses will be detoured weekdays from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and all day on weekends, starting on TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 2020, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Nimitz/Elliott, continue on Nimitz, take exit 92 WEST “JOINT BASE PHH”, veer to the far left lanes to Hickam Main Gate, right access ramp to Kuntz, continue on Kuntz, U-turn at the Hickam Car Wash, and then resume the regular route.
