THEBUS REDUCED FARE PROGRAMS  

To qualify for a Reduced Fare HOLO Card, you must meet one of the following requirements:  

 

  • YOUTH age 6-17 years. A birth certificate or valid ID that displays a date of birth must be presented. Includes students up to 19 years of age who have a valid high school ID or proof of enrollment. Youth cards are available at Satellite City Halls (except Ala Moana Center location) and the Transit Pass Office.

  • SENIOR CITIZEN   age 65 or older. Must provide a valid photo ID with date of birth such as a driver’s license, State-issued identification or passport.

    Senior Kamaaina: Only a valid Hawaii driver’s license and State ID accepted as proof of Hawaii residency.

    Senior HOLO cards are available at Satellite City Halls (except Ala Moana Center location) and the Transit Pass Office.

  • DISABILITY CARD   See Disability Application Form for instructions, requirements and completion. Valid Government-issued photo ID required. Temporary Disability reduced fare ends when the Healthcare provider-prescribed timeframe ends. Permanent Disability Card must be renewed every 4 years. Disability HOLO cards are available only at the Kalihi Transit Pass Office.

    Disability Kamaaina – Only a valid Hawaii driver’s license and Hawaii State ID accepted as proof of Hawaii residency.

 

  • U.S. MEDICARE CARD   (red/white/blue) available for ages under 65. Age 65 and older must apply for a Senior Holo card. The card is to be renewed every 4 years. U.S. Medicare Form required. Medicare HOLO card available only at the Kalihi Transit Pass Office.
  •   U.S. Medicare Kamaaina – Only a valid Hawaii driver’s license and Hawaii State ID accepted as proof of Hawaii residency.

  • THEHANDI-VAN   HOLO Card is for eligible riders purchasing a bus pass or using stored value at a reduced rate. TheHandi-Van HOLO Card bus pass cannot exceed TheHandi-Van eligibility.
  • LOW INCOME CARD   Approved application required. The eligibility period is based on the fiscal year; July – June the following year.

Please note that all documentation must be accompanied by a valid Government-issued photo ID that includes date of birth .
