37th ANNUAL TINMAN TRIATHLON 

The 37th ANNUAL TINMAN TRIATHLON will be held on SUNDAY, JULY 23, 2017.  The event will take place along roadways in the Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, Kahala, and East Honolulu areas. The event starts at 5:20 a.m. and approximately 800 participants are expected to enter this event. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route. 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

1, 9, 14, 19, 20, 22, 23, & 24

AFFECTED AREA:

No service on Kalakaua between Kapahulu and Paki, Diamond Head, Kahala, Pueo, and in the Kahala and East Honolulu areas.

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below: 

ROUTE 1, KAIMUKI-KALIHI 

Eastbound:   To Kahala Mall -TheBus will travel the regular route to Waialae/Hunakai bus stop, continue east on Waialae, right Kilauea, right Pahoa, right Hunakai to the temporary terminus at Waialae/Hunakai. 

                    To Hawaii Kai - TheBus will travel the regular route to Waialae/Hunakai, continue on Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route.                   

Westbound: From Kahala Mall - From the temporary terminus at Hunakai/Waialae, TheBus will continue on Hunakai crossing over Waialae, right Kilauea, right Waialae, and then resume the regular route. 

                    From Hawaii Kai- TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, right Waialae, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 9, KAIMUKI-PEARL HARBOR 

Eastbound:   No detour.

Westbound:  From the terminus at Alohea/Pokole, TheBus will travel right Pokole, right Kilauea, left 18th, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 14, ST. LOUIS-MAUNALANI 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Kalakaua, left Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, and then resume the regular route after crossing Pueo. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kahala/Elepaio, right Elepaio, left Kilauea, left 18th, right Diamond Head, onto Monsarrat, right Leahi, right Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 19, WAIKIKI-AIRPORT-HICKAM

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-PEARLRIDGE

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalakaua/Monsarrat, left Monsarrat to the temporary terminus at Monsarrat/Kalakaua. 

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Monsarrat/Kalakaua, TheBus will continue on Monsarrat, left Paki, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 22, BEACH BUS 

Eastbound:  From Kalakaua/Kapahulu, TheBus will continue on Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, left 18th, right Diamond Head, right Leahi, left Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki.

ROUTE 23, HAWAII KAI-SEA LIFE PARK 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Diamond Head/Makapuu, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Lunalilo/Wailua, continue on Lunalilo, right Kalanianaole, right Keahole, left into Hawaii Kai Park and ride, resuming regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, left 18th, right Diamond Head, right Leahi, left Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki.

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU-AINA HAINA-ALA MOANA 

Eastbound:   Hunakai/Waialae to Ani/Hind Iuka Bus: From Hunakai/Waialae, TheBus will continue on Hunakai, right Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

                    Kapahulu/Olu to Ani/Hind Iuka Bus: TheBus will travel the regular route to Diamond Head/Makapuu, left Makapuu, right Kilauea, left Pahoa, right Hunakai, right Waialae, left Kilauea, right Malia, right Ainakoa, left Kalanianaole, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  Ani/Hind Iuka to Hunakai/Waialae Bus: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, right Pahoa, and then resume the regular route. 

                    Ani/Hind Iuka to Kapahulu/Olu Bus: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalanianaole/Ainakoa, right Ainakoa, left Malia, left Kilauea, left 18th, right Diamond Head, right Leahi, right Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route. 


PAVING MAKAI BOUND ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE 

The City & County of Honolulu Road Crew will be paving University Ave. in the Makai direction, between Maile Ave. and Metcalf St. Monday through Friday starting on MONDAY, JULY 17, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Note:  TheBus will service all stops along the detour route.

ALAPAI TRANSIT CENTER DIAMOND HEAD LANE CLOSURE

The ALAPAI TRANSIT CENTER DIAMOND HEAD LANES and TERMINUS will be closed Monday through Friday starting on MONDAY, JULY 10, 2017, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  

Note:  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:  TheBus will begin service at stop 3 at the Alapai Transit Center, right Alapai, and then resume the regular route.

 


LILIHA STREET – SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT 

Liliha Street will be closed between Kauai Street and Hawaii Street for sewer line replacement, starting on FRIDAY, MAY 19, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

PENSACOLA STREET TEMPORARY WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS  

The Department of Transportation Services (DTS) announced a temporary vehicle weight restriction for Pensacola St. between Kapiolani Blvd. and Waimanu St. beginning WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2017, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, until further notice.

Note:  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Burns Freeway, right EXIT 15 “KANEOHE BAY DRIVE,” right Kaneohe Bay Dr., onto N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular route.


FARRINGTON HIGHWAY P.M. CONTRAFLOW 

The Farrington Hwy. Afternoon Contraflow will begin on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The eastbound lanes along Farrington Hwy. will be reduced to one lane and will restrict left turns onto Nanakuli Ave.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.
